Leaves: deep-green, ovate, obtuse, and composite leaves, full of small holes, plainly seen if held up to light
Flowers: branched at top of stockes yellow flowers of five leaves each with many yellow threads in the middle, which contain a red liquid. June to August.
Fruit: small blackish seeds contained in small round heads which contain three seeds;
Taste: Balsamic, bitter
